Video shows Harvey Weinstein coming on to woman hours before alleged rape

Melissa Thompson, who has previously publicly complained of abusive behaviour by Harvey Weinstein during a 2011 business meeting in NY, gave a tape of the encounter to Sky News.

In an interview with Sky News, Thompson said Weinstein's behavior was distracting and she struggled to stay "on script" with the product pitch.

The shocking footage begins by showing Weinstein rejecting a handshake from Thompson and preceding to hug her and rubbing her back.

The video shows Thompson reacting with discomfort but also joking about his advances, saying that "data is hot".

Prosecutors argue they do not have the responsibility to turn over the emails because Weinstein could have given testimony about the alleged relationship himself, which he did not do. Later footage shows Thompson re-adjusting the angle of her laptop so that she and Weinstein would remain on camera even as he beckoned her to a different part of the room. Give it to me. "It's okay. Would you like to do it some more?"

Throughout the rest of the meeting, Weinstein sexually harasses Thompson, running his hand up her leg at one point.

Thompson alleges that Weinstein raped her hours later at a nearby hotel. She said Weinstein led her to a hotel room and raped her.

As well as the civil suits, Weinstein also faces criminal charges - he has denied all allegations.

The two other women in that specific lawsuit claim Weinstein battered and assaulted them in hotel rooms during incidents dating back to the nineties.

The NHC experts warned that "life-threatening storm surge (is) possible along the coasts of North and South Carolina". The National Weather Service says nearly half of all deaths from tropical cyclones come from storm surge.

Thompson tells Sky News that at one point in the meeting Weinstein reached his hand under the desk and put it under Thompson's skirt.

Thompson told Sky News Weinstein was "playing a cat-and-mouse game from the very beginning to see how far he could push me, and what my reactions might be so that he could gauge how he would play with (me), where my levers were, what were my vulnerabilities".

Ms Thompson replies: "Ummm we'll see, a little bit". At first I was kind of trying to manage the situation.

Brafman said the video shows "casual, if not awkward, flirting from both parties".

Instead it recorded an excruciating encounter with the man who now faces criminal charges of sexual assault in a NY court, as well as scores...

The statement continued: "Anything short of that is meant to make Mr. Weinstein appear inappropriate, and even exploitative".

"If I would try to fight myself away from him, he would then move around to a place where he could block me in", Thompson said.

Thompson's rape allegation is part of a class action lawsuit against the former Hollywood producer, whose career was toppled by a series of rape, sexual assault and harassment allegations past year.

"This is a further attempt to publicly disgrace Mr Weinstein for financial gain, and we will not stand for it", he said. That is where she accuses him of raping her.
