Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition HD for Switch launches today

Both Square Enix and Nintendo underestimated Octopath Traveler, and it went on to sell over 1 million units worldwide.

But one of the biggest surprises was the annoucement that Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD, and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age are coming to Switch sometime next year.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remaster is coming in 2019. It will be joined by the spinoff games World of Final Fantasy: Maxima on November 8 and Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: Everybuddy! this winter. Perhaps that's a good thing, considering that the game is being given a drastic makeover that will see the adventure play out across several upcoming releases.

In the meantime, it's also unclear why Final Fantasy 8 wasn't included in the lineup. If that wasn't enough, even some newer Final Fantasy titles will be making the jump.

Six titles were under the spotlight in the news with one of those already being available as FINAL FANTASY XV POCKET EDITION HD released for the Xbox One last week.

Of course, that's just speculation at this time.
