Deadline day round-up: Everton shop in Barcelona, busy Fulham welcome five

Barcelona confirmed defender Yerry Mina has signed for Everton.

The attacker, who can play either on the wing or in an advanced midfield position, has earned 14 caps for Brazil, but none since starting in their shocking 7-1 defeat to Germany in the 2014 World Cup semifinals.

For the first time, the Premier League deadline was moved forward to the day before the season kicks off when United host Leicester City on Friday.

Everton completed the signings of Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes from Barcelona and Brazilian free-agent winger Bernard on Thursday in a triple deadline-day swoop for the Premier League club.

Mina scored three times in three games in Russian Federation, including against Everton's England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford with a dramatic stoppage-time header to send their last-16 tie to extra-time.

Barcelona can buy the centre-half back for around £30m if he does well at Goodison but, for now, he is an Everton player.

It launched at $929 (£869, AU$1,499), but is now available for several hundred dollars/pounds less if you shop around. It's not clear whether there will be any surprises, but you can find out for sure by tuning in to the event.

Everton's season-long loan deal for Portugal's Gomes will see them pay 2.25 million euros and the player's wages.

In March, having endured consistent criticism for failing to live up to his Valencia form, the 25-year-old described his Barca spell as "a kind of hell", admitting he had struggled with depression.

The 25-year-old began his career at Benfica, with his career highlight being a European Championship win with Portugal in 2016.

Speaking to evertontv, Bernard said that the chance to join a "great club with great tradition" was the key driving factor behind his decision to sign for the club, vowing to help "make things happen" alongside former Watford manager Silva.

'The manager made me feel confident I wanted to play here because of what he's done in the past.
