Iran's Foreign Minister Zarif: US will not stop Iran oil exports

He said he considered the US pullout from the nuclear deal and re-imposition of sanctions to be "incorrect".

"With regard to our situation do not be anxious at all".

In an interview with the Iran newspaper published on Wednesday, Mr Zarif said the Trump administration's stated aim of cutting Iranian oil exports to zero was "meaningless" and "impossible".

Lankov said North Korea has been selling arms to Iran at least since the mid-1980s, including missiles used by Tehran during the Iran-Iraq War.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif branded as doomed to fail the United States attempt of stopping Tehran from exporting oil.

He is seeking to compel Iran to agree to a new nuclear accord, but the UK, France, Germany, Russia and China have pledged to abide by the deal they negotiated along with the U.S. in 2015, and continue trading with Iran.

Since it unilaterally pulled out of the deal in May, Washington has told other countries that they must halt all imports of Iranian oil from November 4, or face United States financial measures.

"These are the most biting sanctions ever imposed", Trump tweeted on Tuesday.

Student protests surge in Bangladesh capital
A group of pro-government students attacked the student protestors with sticks, rods, stones, and pistols, said the report. The protesters have put forward a set of demands for the government. "We must do something to save our kids".

The US is making history not just by violating a United Nations security council resolution it voted for three years ago, but also by penalising countries who stick to the same unanimous resolution, the Iranian ambassador to the UN has claimed.

European countries, hoping to persuade Tehran to continue to respect the nuclear deal, have promised to try to lessen the blow of sanctions and to urge their firms not to pull out.

Among those that have suspended plans to invest in Iran are France's oil major Total, its big carmakers PSA and Renault, and their German rival Daimler.

The high-level meeting follows the reimposition of sanctions on Iran by the US on Tuesday, which a White House statement said targeted the country's energy sector and foreign financial institutions doing business with the Central Bank of Iran.

While Iran has maintained its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, before the June summit with Trump North Korea had repeatedly threatened to attack the USA and South Korea. "We can't get drawn into a confrontation with America by falling into this war room trap and playing on a battlefield".

Trump decided this year to pull out of the agreement, ignoring pleas from the other world powers that had co-sponsored the deal, including Washington's main European allies, Britain, France and Germany, as well as Russian Federation and China.

The first wave of USA sanctions took effect on Tuesday. Zarif told the state-owned IRAN daily, however, there are now no ongoing talks between the countries.

"If you stab someone with a knife and then you say you want talks, then the first thing you have to do is remove the knife", Rouhani said in a speech broadcast live on state television.
