Manchester United continue hunt for centre-back ahead of transfer deadline

Sky Sports News understands United are preparing a bid for Leicester's Harry Maguire before the Premier League transfer window closes on Thursday.

Paul Pogba is becoming unsettled at Manchester United after feeling manager Jose Mourinho unfairly criticised him this summer, sources told ESPN FC.

The reported agreement would see him pick up £346,000 a week, nearly double what he earns at United. The French champions have the advantage over United in that the transfer window in Ligue 1 isn't until the middle of September - more than a month after the deadline in the Premier League.

Although Pogba wanted to leave, he also did not intend to ever go to war with his club over it either.

José Mourinho said that he would welcome any contributions made by Manchester United players who have recently returned from the World Cup.

Whether Pogba leaves or not - and it is exceedingly unlikely - there is no doubt he has become disillusioned with life under Mourinho.

Barcelona's offer of Mina as part of the Pogba deal is due to the fact Mourinho is desperate to strengthen his defence.

Manchester United are not interested though, in letting the midfielder leave. Pogba also is believed to be open to the move.

Juventus are ready to give their star player Miralem Pjanic and cash in exchange for Paul Pogba in a bid to prise the France midfielder away from Old Trafford, according to Mirror Football. Back in April, Pep Guardiola claimed Pogba was offered to Manchester City at the start of this year. United have taken a stern stance in talks, insisting the World Cup victor is not for sale.

Reports in both Spain and England suggest that the Gunners are keen on making a move for Ousmane Dembele with a rumoured €100 million deal in the works, a player who Emery is said to love.

Former United star Rio Ferdinand told Wednesday´s edition of the Daily Mail that Mourinho needed to fit the team around Pogba´s sublime talent, but accepted the player needed to adapt too.
