WhatsApp rolls out group voice and video calling

Today, WhatsApp has officially announced that group calling for both voice and video is finally here. WhatsApp users now spend over two billion minutes on calls per day.

Group FaceTime allows up to 32 people to join a video call at the same time. Apparently, you shouldn't worry about the quality of service either, as WhatsApp "designed calling to work reliably around the world in different network conditions".

In a post on their blog WhatsApp said: "Over the last couple years, people have enjoyed making voice and video calls on WhatsApp". Its video calls, like other messages sent within the app, are end-to-end encrypted by default, for one thing.

The company had previously announced that it was working on the feature during Facebook's F8 developer conference in May. While beta users could engage in group calls with non-beta users the former couldn't make calls from their end.

Blevins under those circumstances was authorized", said Freeman, adding that officers fired 14 shots and hit Blevins four times. It has a red circle drawn around Blevins' waistband to highlight what appears to be a gun tucked into his shorts.

The feature is limited to up to four people in a group, but that should really be enough. It said that about 1.5 billion users actively use the app every month and that a lot of them were waiting for the group calling feature.

WhatsApp video and audio calls can have up to four participants including the person who started the call. In order to start a one-on-one voice or video call, users first need to tap of the new "add participant" button placed on the top right corner and then app participants to it. Moreover, during a video call users will have an option to turn off the camera by clicking on the camera icon.

To see if you have it, make sure you're on v2.18.232 beta, which you can grab from the Play Store or from APK Mirror, and check your notifications.
