Sacha Baron Cohen demonstrates his pedophile-detecting wand on Roy Moore

The flawless time to whip out the "pedophile detector".

Accused pedophile turned Trump-backed senate candidate Roy Moore is the latest victim of Sacha Baron Cohen's Showtime series, Who is America?

Baron Cohen was in character as Erran Morad, his Israeli counterterrorism expert who gets conservatives to reveal their thirst for violence.

During the interview, Cohen explains that Israel has created a new technology that can detect sex offenders and "especially pedophiles".

Moore lost the December 2017 special election to fill an empty Alabama Senate seat to the Democratic candidate, Doug Jones, amid allegations that when Moore was a local prosecutor in his 30s, he initiated a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl.

Disney Buys Fox in Historic $71.3 Billion Deal
Late previous year , Disney revealed its multi-billion dollar plans to buy the majority of Fox's assets, films, and TV shows. Last week, Comcast dropped its pursuit of Fox's film and television studios, cable networks and worldwide TV businesses.

"So the phrase "sweating like a rapist" is actually based in science", Cohen says.

Cohen objects that he is making no accusation, and Moore says. But when he waved the wand over the politician's torso - surprise, surprise - it immediately started to beep.

Holding the wand, Cohen says "because neither of us are sex offenders" it will make no noise. "Did you lend the jacket to somebody else?" he asks in a tone of concern as Moore grimaces. "If this is an instrument, then I- certainly I'm not a pedophile, okay?"

"I've been married for 33 [years] and never had an accusation of such things", said Moore. "Maybe Israeli technology hasn't developed properly".

Per the Daily Beast, Moore released a preemptive statement before the episode aired Sunday saying that he is embroiled in "several court cases presently to defend my honor and character against vicious false political attacks", and that if the episode is released, he "may very well be involved in another". What's happening is Sacha Baron Cohen calling Roy Moore a pedophile to his face. The device "accidentally" goes off when used on Moore, and and the fake interview ends rather quickly after that.
