Microsoft May Finally Announce the Next-Gen Elite Controller Next Month

However, we're getting a look at something Xbox hardware related much sooner. In a blog post on Wednesday confirming that the company will be at Gamescom in Germany this year, Microsoft revealed that it will be hosting a special episode of Inside Xbox from the Xbox booth covering news, upcoming games, and "all-new Xbox hardware and accessories".

With E3 in the rearview mirror, Gamescom is the next big convention on the schedule.

One of the major new reveals will be an all-new PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Mode coming to the Xbox One.

Instead of "all-new hardware", Microsoft told fans to expect "new Xbox One bundles and accessories", as well as "a few surprises". So, while we're not in for any new consoles, perhaps we'll see a new limited edition Xbox One X or a new Elite controller? We'll find out when Microsoft holds its event on August 21 at 7:30am PT.

Xbox to Announce New Hardware at Gamescom

Hopefully, Xbox will have even more up its sleeves when Gamescom rolls around this year. More importantly, though, is that it has a lineup of "25 games across a diverse range of genres" to show at its booth during the show.

Like previous years, Microsoft will be present with its Xbox booth at which players will be able to try out the upcoming Forza Horizon 4, State of Decay 2's upcoming Daybreak Pack, and Ori and the Will of the Wisps. However, Microsoft is working on a successor of the Xbox Elite Controller and the company might launch it during Gamescom.

A live stream event is promise for 3.30pm BST on Tuesday, August 21, which is likely to be where the new accessories and bundles will be shown off for the first time.
