Former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones fought off an Atlanta airport employee who was charged with battery after starting an altercation with the National Football League veteran, police said.

The employee, Frank Ragin, reportedly "made a gesture towards Adam Jones".

TMZ Sports also acquired Ragin's official police mug shot, which was taken in his hospital bed. Ragin the fell to the ground when Jones started to defend himself.

Adam "Pacman" Jones has had a wild 11-year long career in the National Football League that's seen him be an All-Pro and miss two seasons in his prime years due to various off the field issues.

Police say words were exchanged before Ragin struck Jones with a closed fist, causing a cut to Jones' face. According to police who spoke with TMZ, Ragin was the primary aggressor in the altercation and was arrested on two counts of battery. Jones and his companion declined medical treatment. Jones was suspended for the entire 2007 National Football League season and a portion of the 2008 season. The NFL suspended Jones for one game for a violation of its personal conduct policy.

Jones has yet to be signed to a contract for the upcoming season, and it remains to be seen if his latest run in with trouble will deter teams from signing him.

Moral of the story: No matter how big and bad you think you are, do not run up on an National Football League player.
