Stormy Daniels arrest was part of sting operation, lawyer says; charges dropped

Adult film star Stormy Daniels has been arrested at a strip club in OH after being accused of allowing a customer to touch her.

As you can see, Avenatti thinks the charges are politically motivated.

Avenatti tweeted just before 7 a.m. Thursday that Daniels would "issue a plea of "Not Guilty" to the charges.

The high-powered attorney claims the arrest was "part of a sting" based on a "puritan law" that says there is absolutely no touching in strip clubs in Columbus. "There has to be higher priorities!"

Avenatti had earlier tweeted that the arrest was "a set-up" and "politically motivated".

Daniels was arrested at a club in Columbus while performing an act she has done at almost 100 strip clubs across the US, Michael Avenatti wrote on Twitter. Trump, who was married at the time of the alleged affair, has disputed her claims. Daniels was charged with three misdemeanor sex offenses for touching undercover police officers during her routine, and her attorney had some...interesting insight into their, shall we say, "investigation" of his client.

There was a look of glee in Del Potro's sometimes sad eyes, and his lumbering between-points walk had a bit more energy to it. Del Potro raised his game again, though, claiming his third tie-break success of the match to book his date with Nadal.

Porn actress Stormy Daniels was arrested Thursday and charged with violating a controversial and conservative-backed OH state law called the Community Defense Act, which prevents adult dancers from touching customers, and vice versa. Under an OH law passed in 2007, an employee who regularly appears nude or seminude at a sexually oriented business is prohibited from touching patrons, except for family members.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, was released from police custody early Thursday morning and was expected to face a misdemeanor charge, Avenatti said.

Avenatti also shared a statement from Stormy herself in which she apologized for not being able to go on with a scheduled show for Thursday night in Columbus.

Daniels filed lawsuits against both Cohen and Trump for defamation.

According to her lawyer, Clifford purportedly allowed one or more strip club patrons to touch her onstage, which, if accurate, would violate state law.

After denying knowledge of the payment, Trump admitted in May that his longtime lawyer, Cohen, was reimbursed through a monthly retainer for a $130,000 payment made to Daniels in 2016 to stop what Trump called "false and extortionist accusations" about a decade-old affair.
