Netflix is testing an Ultra subscription

According to feedback from markets including Germany and Italy, the new price band is called Ultra and offers 4K/HDR content with a maximum of four streams available to customers.

With the most recent price increase last fall, the two-screen Standard subscription option went up to $10.99/month, while the four-screen Premium option went up to $13.99/month. Basic allows for users to stream content on one screen at a time.

According to reports, the new tier may focus on the amount of screens users have access to and new HDR (high dynamic range) features. During the fourth quarter of 2017, Netflix posted their highest customer growth yet, adding 8.3 million new subscribers.

In the U.S., Netflix's current Premium plan ($13.99) includes 4K Ultra HD video and four simultaneous screens.

Said in an email, "We continuously test new things at Netflix and these tests typically vary in length of time".

I again, I say this, the base will attack the leadership for this if they allow it to happen and they should. Bush, and his time helping Ken Starr investigate President Bill Clinton, may mean Kavanaugh is passed over.

Should the Ultra plan become a reality and Netflix adopts changes in the lower-priced Premium and Standard plans, some USA homes with multiple TVs and other screens might be faced with choosing a higher-priced plan and paying $3 to $6 more per month. Certainly, the existing users of the Premium and the standard plans are sure to experience a frown or two on their face but it would be juvenile to doubt the loyal customers who crave for the Netflix experience.

"This feature is only offered on the website and has seen declining usage over time", said Netflix spokesperson Smita Saran.

The purported new Ultra subscription would cost $17 per month, up from the $14 per month that the current Premium plan offers, but knocks HDR away from Premium and leaves it to Ultra.

Netflix has announced plans to test out yet another price tier.

In 2011, Netflix lost 800,000 US subscribers when it raised the prices for its plan offering streaming video and DVD rentals from $9.99 to $15.98.
