Mark Zuckerberg tops Buffett to become world's third-richest man

Bezos owns 16% share of Amazon whereas Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates' net worth is $92.7 Billion and he owns just 1% shares in Microsoft.

The only other individuals worth more than Zuckerberg are Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos, the leader at roughly $141 billion, and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.

While Facebook stock hit an eight-month low of $152.22 in late March after massive scrutiny over the company's handling of user data, its shares closed Friday at $203.23, a record.

For the first time, the three richest people alive are all tech titans.

Before Mark Zuckerberg, Warren Buffett was the 3rd richest man. Warren Buffett is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Inc.

Tropical Storm Chris to bring showers
The tropical storm watch for Barbados has been discontinued as Beryl "no longer poses a direct threat". At 6pm today, Chris was 571 miles west of Bermuda, with winds of about 52mph and higher gusts.

Facebook received major backlash earlier this year following reports that the data of millions of its users were breached and improperly shared with Cambridge Analytica. The founder of social network Facebook mark Zuckerberg is among the three richest people in the world.

Facebook appears to have made it through its worst storm to date, though.

Zuckerberg claimed the No. 3 spot on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index because Facebook shares rose 2.4 percent. Warren Buffett may seem like the odd one out, but his net worth also has to be with smart investments in companies that have since grown massively, including Apple, American Express and Coca Cola.

Buffett, who once ranked as the world's wealthiest person, has now slid down to number four, largely in part to his charitable giving. Forbes recently estimated the U.S. president's wealth at $US3.1b, based on his inheritance from his father, real estate mogul Fred Trump, and his property holdings today (Mr Trump himself puts his wealth at above $US10b, without offering any breakdown).
