Giuliani Floats Trump-Mueller Interview for Revelation of Russia Investigation Origin

In his first interview since federal agents raided his home and hotel room three months ago as part of an investigation into his business dealings, Cohen made clear that protecting Trump is not his priority.

Giuliani said he was not concerned by the interview.

Davis appears to have taken an approach similar to that of Michael Avenatti, the attorney for Stormy Daniels who often uses social media to blast Trump, as well as Cohen, and numerous president's supporters.

Although Trump still "wants to testify", as Giuliani insisted, the likelihood of him speaking with Mueller looks increasingly slim.

A day after he tweeted "I will always protect my POTUS" in April, the FBI raided his home, office and hotel room as part of a probe by federal prosecutors in NY into his business dealings.

Cohen has scrubbed a reference of his long-time representation of Trump from professional credentials, saying recently, "My wife, my daughter and my son have my first loyalty and always will", not the president.

Lanny Davis, the new attorney representing Michael Cohen as he faces a federal criminal investigation in NY, is coming out swinging against Cohen's former client President Donald Trump and his lawyer Rudy Giuliani.

"We have no reason to believe he did anything wrong", the former New York City mayor said of Cohen.

According to a Monday CNN report, Giuliani said that it was Comey's own fault if he took that as a serious order.

On Sunday night, Thai navy SEALs posted a celebratory note on their Facebook page , saying: "Have sweet dreams everyone". The worldwide effort to save the group has paired divers in "buddy teams" with the remaining eight boys and their coach.

"The reality is that there are biases that have to be explored surrounding Mueller", Giuliani said. "Sorry, I don't see Michael doing that despite the awful Witch Hunt and the dishonest media!"

The only legal risk for Mr. Trump, Giuliani told CBS News' Paula Reid, is lying to investigators, which Giuliani says could only be proven by a witness or document giving an alternate version of events.

During the interview on Fox News, Giuliani also continued to cast doubt on whether Trump will voluntarily submit to an interview by Mueller.

He was asked how he might respond if the president or his legal team came after him and tried to discredit the work he did for Trump over the last decade. Kasowitz and Trump lawyer Jay Sekulow did not immediately return messages, and former Trump attorney John Dowd declined to comment.

Lanny Davis, who previously worked for President Bill Clinton's administration and has staunchly defended Hillary Clinton following her 2016 loss to Trump, went after Giuliani's call Sunday for Cohen to cooperate with federal prosecutors and to tell "the truth".

Overall, this seems to be another attempt by Trump's team to discredit and stall Mueller's investigation.

In reply, Giuliani asked the interviewer "how you can expect us to just walk up our client like a lamb to the slaughter".

"Simply accepting the denial of Mr. Putin is unsustainable", Cohen said.
