Bethesda's Todd Howard Says Fallout 76 Doesn't 'Mark' The Company's Future

"People, they're on other things". "They asked for mods", he replied, "they asked for Creation Club - 'When are we getting more stuff?'" Bethesda's studio head Todd Howard has now made it abundantly clear that isn't the case, during an interview with GamesIndustry.biz at Gamelab in Barcelona. While it's disappointing that mods and Fallout 4 won't be coming to Switch any time soon, it does seem like Bethesda wants them to eventually, perhaps after development slows down for their bigger titles.

In the interview with Multiplayer.it, when asked how Bethesda will stop spawn killers hanging around outside the vault, Howard responded saying, "There are several tricks we are implementing to prevent the other players from doing exactly the things you describe".

"Even now, the amount of people who play Skyrim seven years later; millions of people every month are playing that game", said Howard. "We would love to see it happen but it's not something we're actively doing". A controversial decision behind Creation Club was to make its mods for consoles a paid feature. Players with the right know-how and passion can take the game's existing code and modify or add to it, creating a mod in the process.

Trump to Unveil Court Pick Monday
The US President, according to the White House, has interviewed seven candidates from his master list of 25 judges. Mr Trump had on Friday discussed the nomination with Vice President Mike Pence in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Mod support has been - and will be - a fundamental part of Bethesda Game Studios games going forward.

Skyrim on Switch arrived last November - Skyrim having been one of games which originally sold the Switch vision to the world (despite not actually being confirmed for Switch release back then).

Howard is a busy chap at the moment, as his team is working on a number of projects including The Elder Scrolls Blades, Fallout 76, Starfield, and The Elder Scrolls VI. Nonetheless, when it finally did arrive, Skyrim fit Switch as we'd hoped, and the ability to play on trains and planes and the toilet, was delightful.
