Stormy Sunday on the way with a marginal risk for severe weather

Behind that cold front, overnight lows will get back into the 60s for Monday night into early Tuesday morning. Rounds of showers and storms keep pushing from west to east across our part of the world.

Friday night - A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms with a low around 70.

A large storm complex is moving through IL this morning and looks to five our way by late morning in our northernmost communities and close to 12-1 p.m.in the metro. Highs will be in the upper 80s with scattered showers and storms. Don't blame us - blame the National Weather Service, which predicts that showers are likely to return after 11 a.m. Sunday, and clouds are on tap for most of the day.

Today: Partly cloudy, 30% chance of late day showers and thunderstorms. Skies will be mostly sunny as well.

Other storms are possible across northern portions of KAKEland overnight into Wednesday morning, but the severe risk with those is lower than down south. Beyond Wednesday, rain chances become minimal as high temperatures creep back into the 90s for the second half of the week.
