SNP MPs stage mass walkout during PMQs over Brexit

Scottish Conservative MP Andrew Bowie hit back at claims that the Withdrawal Bill was a Westminster "power grab".

"I am not prepared to sit back and see powers taken from Scottish parliament", he concluded, to a round of applause from SNP MPs behind him. "Scotland can not be continued to be disrespected by Westminster". Yet last night she pressed ahead with a power grab in direct opposition to our elected parliament.

Tory MP shouts at @IanBlackfordMP that he should consider suicide during last night's debate. Proceedings on the EU Withdrawal Bill last night were a democratic outrage and the Scottish Parliament must be respected.

"Under the circumstances, and given the disrespect shown, I've got no option but to now demand that this house sits in private".

"Scotland's voice has not been heard. that's a democratic outrage", he said. "I'm not going to go so far as to say his behavior is always impeccable but the little baby has been impeccable and I think we salute that". It leaves Holyrood exposed to having powers taken without consent in areas including trade deals, environmental standards and food safety, all issues of key concern to the Scottish parliament and all of which impact detrimentally on Scotland's economy - we're talking a loss of up to 80,000 jobs and cuts to wages of £2,000 a year, according to economists. "I hope he will trust me that I know of what I speak...there will be a division at the end of this session not now".

Lucas Torreira: Arsenal in talks to sign Uruguay midfielder from Sampdoria
It's certainly going to be an exciting transfer window at the Emirates, with a whole lot of topics to discuss. Today, Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Bernd Leno ...

"Under the power given to me by Standing order no.43 order in light of the repeated refusal to resume his seat on instruction I order the right honourable gentleman to withdraw immediately from the house for the remainder of this days sitting", the speaker said.

Blackford attempted to raise a point again, which Bercow would not allow, resulting in the Speaker of the House telling Blackford to leave. And Blackford's fellow SNP MPs walked out too.

Blackford told the BBC after his ejection that the government was showing a lack of respect for Scotland and added: "let's be under no illusion - this is a constitutional crisis".

He made the weird and telling claim that 'even if we'd had 100 hours of debate, the situation wouldn't have changed, ' proving the United Kingdom government's contempt for Scottish devolution and desire to rollback the powers of the devolved parliament. Look at this morning's interview with Scottish secretary David Mundell, who was repeatedly asked why there was next to no time given for debate of issues related to devolution.

Green MP Caroline Lucas said she could "completely sympathise" with the walk out.
