The blaze, named the Buffalo Fire, quickly spread across 100 acres on Tuesday and came alarmingly close to housing developments located approximately 60 miles west of Denver, The Mercury News reported.

Meanwhile, additional firefighters were headed to Wyoming to work on a wildfire that has exploded in size and prompted evacuations near the Colorado border.

Some families returned home Wednesday even though the 416 Fire just north of Durango continues to grow and a new pre-evacuation notice has been issued for 163 homes and two businesses.

The fire was reported Tuesday near the town of Silverthorne in Summit County, which is home to several ski resorts. On Wednesday afternoon, the storm was churning up 50 mph winds about 215 miles from Cabo San Lucas.

"There were big black rolling clouds coming off it and it had gotten to the edge of the forest, right next to the neighborhood", Silverthorne resident Jake Schulman told the Summit Daily after spotting the fire while hiking. Fire officials asked Xcel Energy to shut off the power to the upper half of the Mesa Cortina and Wildernest subdivisions out of safety for the firefighters in the area.

The order is effective Friday for the Mountainair and Sandia districts, and in place June 22 for the Mount Taylor district.

Firefighters say residents of hundreds of other homes have been warned to be ready to evacuate because of the fire, which has burned about 90 acres. There have been no reports of homes being damaged by the blaze.

The City of Pueblo also said it will be deploying a Type 1 fire apparatus to assist with fire, including four personnel Tuesday evening.

All 1.8 million acres (730,000 hectares) of the San Juan National Forest in southwestern Colorado were due to be closed to visitors by Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in a statement, citing the fire danger.

Per officials, the closure will remain in effect "until the forest receives sufficient moisture to improve conditions".

The area in and around the forest southwest of Santa Fe has seen a string of fires since April.

The 416 Fire - named after its emergency service call number - is by far the largest of at least a half-dozen blazes raging across Colorado.

The so-called Badger Creek Fire began Sunday and had grown to about 11 square miles by Thursday morning.

Patrick Seekins, of the Dolores Ranger District, said a containment line on the west side also was a priority to prevent the fire from traveling down Bear Creek toward private property and residences at Colorado Highway 145. "Multiple aircraft are actively dropping water and retardant at this time", county fire officials said.

Apple too is planning to opt for a big screen iPhone - allegedly called the iPhone X Plus - featuring a 6.5-inch OLED display. Given the OLED nature of the panel and its size, it looks like the upcoming smartphone from Huawei will be a flagship device.
