Eid Al Fitr 2018 holiday for Dubai schools announced

In Ramzan, the 9th month of Islamic calendar, Muslims observe fast and abstain from food and water from dawn to dusk.

After a month of fasting and sacrifice, Muslims will celebrate Eid ul-Fitr after sighting of the moon which will officially end the month of Ramzan. If the moon is spotted on Thursday night, the first day of Shawwal will be on Friday which will also be the first day of Eid Al Fitr.

Sultan Bin Saeed Al Badi Al Dhaheri, Minister of Justice issued the resolution for the moon-sighting committee.

An expert privy to the matter told The Express Tribune that there are nearly "no" chances of Shawaal moon sighting on the eve of June 14.

Justin Trudeau's eyebrow raises a lot of eyebrows
"It's always the president's decision", White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said Tuesday at an event in Washington. What Trump is asking for truly shows he has no knowledge of our system or even his own.

But if the new moon is not seen by the committee on Thursday, Friday will be assumed as Ramadan 30 and Eid Al Fitr will begin on Saturday.

Eid al-Fitr means new beginnings and it is considered auspicious to eat something sweet in order to kick-start the holy day; hence the name Meethi Eid. It translates into "the feast of breaking the fast".

Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) also will remain closed for three days from Sunday, June 17 in view of Eid al-Fitr holidays. The lunar cycle is used to calculate the Islamic Hijri era and this year's Ramadan was observed at a different time across India, as the moon was not been visible in some parts of the country.
