Memphis woman arrested for transporting kids in pet kennels, police say

According to the police in Memphis, a city located along the US Mississippi River, the video was shared online showing the two children getting out of pet kennels in the 3700 block of Elvis Presley Blvd Saturday evening.

The 62-year-old has been charged with two counts of Child Endangerment, Memphis Police said in a Facebook post.

She told them to sit in the kennels, usually occupied by her two puppies, for the 25 mile journey because there was no room in the back of the vehicle.

During an interview with investigators, the two kids say Cheeks, their grandmother, told them to get in the kennels because there was not enough room in her vehicle.

They said their grandmother told them to sit in the kennels because there was no room in the trunk. "I couldn't see her actually doing that", said neighbor Skylarr Blake. She seems like a nice lady.

The citizen, who does not want to be identified, sent the video to Memphis Police.

Kabila was supposed to give up the presidency at the end of 2016 but he has clung to power, repeatedly putting off elections. The sentence for witness tampering, however, is not likely to exceed the time already served by Mr.

It's too early to know the details of the circumstances surrounding Cheeks and the children that were seen in the pet kennels, however further information is expected to be released by authorities soon. I only met her like once maybe twice.

Speaking to local media, one neighbour said: "Shocking, it really is".

"I mean it could be an honest mistake".

Temperatures in the vehicle reached upwards of 95 degrees and there was no air conditioning in the back of the Ford as the children rode from Whitehaven, Collierville, Tenn. -which is about a 25 mile drive, according to the affidavit.

Police say the children are okay.
