SpaceX Launches Satellite for SES in Its 11th Mission This Year

Payer traveled from SES headquarters in Luxembourg to watch the launch of his company's SES-12 satellite. The client there was the satellite operator SES, with the payload being set to deliver TV and data services to customers in the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions.

If you're up late Sunday night, or early Monday morning, the webcast below should begin about 15 minutes before the anticipated launch time. But the company announced the need for additional tests to the rocket's upper stage.

The Falcon 9's booster previously launched the U.S. Air Force's secretive X-37B spacecraft last summer. The company intends to fly a handful more of its used Block 4 versions of the Falcon 9 rocket before fully transitioning to the Block 5 version later this summer or early fall.

Germany Drop Sane, Name Ozil, Rudiger, Neuer, Kroos In World Cup Squad
Sane was cut from the squad with Timo Werner and the veteran Mario Gomez included as just two out-and-out strikers . The 22-year-old played a crucial part in Manchester City's record-breaking Premier League title win last season.

Elon Musk's SpaceX announced back in February a year ago that, in late 2018, it would fly two paying space tourists around the Moon and back to Earth. For example, the first stage of the recently debuted "Block 5" Falcon 9 is created to fly 10 times with just inspections between touchdown and liftoff, and 100 times or more with some refurbishment in the mix, Musk has said.

SpaceX won't land the booster again.

The rocket lifted off at 12:45 a.m. and is the second flight for the launcher's first stage, Space.com reports.
