Ukraine Denies Paying Trump Lawyer for White House Meeting

Recall, an authoritative British publication, citing sources in Kiev reported that the personal lawyer of the President of the United States Donald trump Michael Cohen has secretly paid $400 000 for the organization of meetings between Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and the tramp.

One of his partners, Yevgeny Freidman, earlier this week pleaded guilty to tax fraud and agreed to cooperate with state and federal prosecutors.

Freidman, known as New York's "Taxi King", was indicted on state charges past year by then-New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who alleged Freidman and others failed to pay $5 million in MTA surcharges between 2012 and 2015.

Cohen entered the taxi business as a young lawyer in the 1990s, buying up valuable taxi medallions, which are required to operate a cab in NY and other cities.

Freidman's cooperation agreement could be a significant development for Cohen, whose personal business practices are under investigation by the US attorney for the Southern District of NY.

Freidman is required to pay restitution as part of his plea deal and will be sentenced to five years of probation, according to the attorney general's office.

"The first of many", Avenatti said of the plea agreement.

Healy had noted the "serious and egregious nature of the charges", Freidman's exposure to prison time and ties outside NY.

The case was referred to Manhattan federal prosecutors by Robert Mueller, the special counsel overseeing the investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election and contacts between Trump campaign officials and Russians.

Mueller's investigation has increasingly focused on Cohen and includes his work on Trump Tower Moscow, his personal business holdings and any payments to women who claimed they had affairs with Trump.

Trump's outside attorney, Rudy Giuliani, told Business Insider in a Wednesday phone interview that he had "no reason not to believe" Cohen.

Cohen is under criminal investigation in the Southern District of NY.

Freidman texted a New York Times reporter about the article that had been published about his guilty plea, calling it "shameful" and comparing it to a tabloid story.

Cohen is facing some legal troubles of his own.

Around the same time, ride-sharing apps like Uber and Lyft began to dominate the NY livery scene and yellow-cab medallions rapidly lost value. "Gene Freidman and I are not partners and have never been partners in this business or any other", he continued, adding the hashtag "#MediaWrongAgain".

"He's just not involved in the taxis", said one of his lawyers, Mr Rudy Giuliani.

The FBI raided Cohen's home, office, and hotel room last month, and those documents are now undergoing a review, which is being overseen by a special master to determine what falls under attorney-client privilege and what can be used by the government in a potential prosecution of Cohen.

The prosecutor said Freidman, a dual citizen of the United States and Russian Federation, owns two homes in the south of France where he often travels.

Battlefield 5 trailer revealed, set to release in October
Rather than waiting until E3 in a few weeks time, EA chose to hold its own separate Battlefield 5 reveal event last night. A debut trailer gives players their first look at the game, which is set during World War II and its "unseen locations".
