Seven sausage dogs maul woman to death at home

None of the dogs weighed more than 40 pounds or were taller than knee height, KXII said.

News outlet KTEN reported 52-year-old Tracy Garcia was standing outside her Carter County, Okla., home last Thursday when she was mauled by her neighbour's seven dogs.

Six of the dogs are believed to have been mixed with a terrier, but one - the biggest and oldest - could be part-border collie.

Layton also claimed all seven dogs were infested with fleas and ticks.

Dinwiddie claimed the dogs-three females and four males-ranged in age from a year to about three years.

As first responders on the scene tried to help the woman, the dogs turned on them.

Jets vs Golden Knights in a critical Game 3 in NHL Playoffs
Winnipeg Jets winger Nikolaj Ehlers missed Game 3 of the Western Conference finals Wednesday because of an undisclosed injury. Mark Scheifele leads Winnipeg with 14 goals, Blake Wheeler has 17 assists and Patrik Laine has 48 shots on goal.

It appears they were living out in the woods, said Amanda Dinwiddie, euthanasia technician at the Ardmore Animal Shelter, according to KXII.

"We were cleaning ticks off ourselves all day", she told the station. "This is just a bad deal all the way around". Her obituary said her husband died in 2006 and that she was survived by a son and daughter.

"If there was any possible issue of them biting someone else then it would've been (done) but the dogs are deceased as well as the victim so there's just no reason to go spend the thousands and thousands of dollars", Dinwiddle said.

The sheriff said he hopes to have the autopsy results and other relevant information ready for the district attorney's office by Tuesday morning.

Most recently, Garcia worked as a housekeeper at the Hilton Inn in Ardmore, Oklahoma, in order to support her family financially.
