Nobody spoke when Anand changed his name after marriage: Sonam

Nobody spoke when Anand changed his name after marriage: Sonam

"I am just wearing things that I like to wear".

Sonam returned from Cannes early Thursday.

Which is your favorite Cannes look sported by Sonam Kapoor? There is no difference. I do not think it has really changed that much. And we, as women, need to come together and be stronger. "Work is also going to stay the same, hopefully", she says.

Sonam Kapoor arrived at the French Riviera flaunting a black-n-white polka dot maxi dress. After her grand wedding, Sonam was spotted leaving for Delhi with husband Anand Ahuja in a stylish summer-themed saree by Masaba Gupta.

Sonam said, "Just changing my name doesn't make me any less of a feminist".

Upon doing so many questioned her rush to change her last name. She is also a part of Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanjay Dutt biopic titled Sanju. We anyway take our father's names, so if we can give that respect to them, we can give the same respect to our husbands, too. I chose to keep both. "And how do you know Anand has not changed his name?" "I made a decision to do it on social media because that's my platform".

But true to her character, Sonam remains unfazed by their comments and says that it is her personal choice. "It's my personal choice, nobody put a gun to my head", she adds. You should ask him (Anand).

Meanwhile, according to NDTV, numerologist Sanjay Jumaani said that Sonam Kapoor changed her name "at his behest" because she wanted to get her name "numerically right" after her wedding. I believe in my choice. I flaunt myself not because I like my clothes, yes of course I do but more because of my confidence.

When asked about shifting to London post marriage, Sonam told Mid-Day, "I have been shuttling between Mumbai and London for the past two years. He did it himself".

Sonam clarifies that the whole idea of feminism is to have equal opportunities and the choice to do what you want to do.

The actress seems to be so happy by this sweet gesture and she also posted a picture with other charming brand ambassadors. "It is a cyclical thing", said Sonam.

"It has been unbelievable for me to be a part of the brand for the last eight years". It's a complicated discussion but this is my choice. "I love India, I love what it stands for I love that we have the most amount of languages, the most of religion, that we are a liberal country, that we a democracy". "Life remains the same after tying the knot".

The 32-year-old actor also cleared the air about reports saying she will be shifting to London with her husband.

"(I have been) half there, half here.

"Have had incredible conversations over the last two days. this being the most empowering". I go there for four-five months and then I'm back to Mumbai.
