CBS adds revival of 'Murphy Brown' and new take on 'Magnum PI'

Take a gander at the shows coming to TV below, and if you're wondering when they'll air, you can check CBS's fall schedule here. Now, almost 20 years after the final episode of the series aired, "Murphy Brown" is back, looking to take on the world's new 24-hour news cycle.

The reboot of 1980s drama Magnum PI airs at 21.00 on Mondays, offering a modern take on the classic series starring Jay Hernandez as a decorated former Navy SEAL who repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator. "This new programming has inspired stories from CBS' iconic past; unique concepts from both new creative voices and established hit-makers; big stars and fresh on-screen talent; and programming that is inclusive, both in front of and behind the camera".

CBS announced its fall schedule Wednesday morning, placing the revived sitcom the behind "Mom" at 9:30 on Thursdays.

The Neighborhood, from CBS Television Studios, will kick Monday off nights at 20.00, following a Midwest family that moves to a street in LA where not everybody appreciates their extreme neighbourliness. Zachary Knighton plays Rick.

From Emmy-winner Dick Wolf and the team behind Law & Order comes a drama about the inner workings of the NY office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Entertainment Weekly revealed that the series will have Candice's character Murphy anchoring a morning show with her son hosting a rival conservative news program. Amid a divided nation, chaotic national discourse and rampant attacks on the press, Murphy returns to the airwaves with her original FYI team: lifestyle reporter Corky Sherwood, investigative journalist Frank Fontana and producer Miles Silverberg.

On Sunday, after 60 Minutes, a new drama, God Friended Me, will star Brandon Micheal Hall (The Mayor) as an atheist who accepts a friend request from a social-media account calling itself God, an act that leads to his helping people in need.
