Allan McGregor: Goalkeeper returns to Rangers on two-year deal

McGregor, 36, was offered terms to stay at Hull City, but insists he couldn't turn down the opportunity to resume his Rangers career, having left for Besiktas in 2012.

The Daily Star claim on their website that the Light Blues are keen on turning the 28-year-old's loan deal into a permanent one and are on the verge of doing so after his half season at Ibrox, following Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor as the club's new recruits.

He played all 46 league games as the Tigers finished 18th.

Instead, the 36-year-old has chose to return to Rangers six years after quitting in the wake of the club's financial meltdown.

With over 350 appearances to his name at club level - between Zenit, Liverpool and Fenerbahce - the Slovakian would add a wealth of experience to the Rangers outfit and Gerrard would undoubtedly know how to get the best out of the centre-back.
