Ivey among governors backing Trump for Nobel Peace Prize

All signed a letter to that effect, which was sent to Berit Reiss-Andersen, chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, praising President Trump's historic progress in achieving peace on the Korean Peninsula. "President Trump is due to be honored for his ability to bring everyone to the table to discuss a way forward which offers the Korean Peninsula, and the world, a path toward stability and peace".

McMaster is one of six Republican Governors who wrote to the Nobel Committee Chairman this week.

Earlier this month, the President endorsed McMaster's bid in next month's Republican Primary. The president appeared at an October fundraiser, and McMaster has featured footage from that event prominently in his television ads.

Other signatories to the governors' letter include Guam's governor, Eddie Baza Calvo, Mississippi's governor, Phil Bryant, Kansas's governor, Jeff Colyer, Alabama's governor, Kay Ivey, West Virginia's governor, Jim Justice and Maine's governor, Paul LePage.

Yonhap also said North Korea's Korean Central News Agency reported that Pyongyang was questioning whether next month's summit between Kim and Trump could also take place as planned.
