TIDAL to debut new Prince material after settling prior legal disputes

For several years, Prince's music was available exclusively on Tidal, but in 2017, The Purple One's music came to other streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music.

Jay-Z is now working on compiling a new full-length Prince album featuring songs that have previously been unreleased to the public, reports Pitchfork. In addition, they clarified that the compilation album will feature tracks that will not be included in a previous deal with Warner Brothers Records.

According to outcome of Sound, the estate could release a new album every year for the next century featuring the amount of new music kept inside the vault. The new release marks a continuation of Prince's 2015 partnership with TIDAL, which resulted in the exclusive debut of HITnRUN Phase One and HITnRUN Phase Two via the streaming service.

"Our only goal is to share Prince's music with his fans as he wanted", the statement read.

Carter, speaking on behalf of the Estate, noted: "I'm very pleased this is resolved, and we get to honor the relationship between Prince and Tidal with this album".

According to the New York Times, Prince's family filed the suit under the name of a trustee, Michael A. Zimmer and alleged that the singer received "improper medical care" in the early hours of 15 April 2016. "We look forward to fans hearing the new music and experiencing the genius of Prince".
