This Derek Jeter Thing Is Just Getting Sad Now

Up next on the docket: the Marlins.

Jeter, one of the all-time great Yankees and a fan favorite, last attended a game in Yankee Stadium in May 2017 when his No. 2 was retired and his plaque was added to Monument Park.

In the second, Judge rocked a two-out homer to right-center was his fourth of the season and it gave him No. 60 for his career.

If you believe the rumors, Jeter's relationship with the Yankees has been strained since the 2013 offseason when his final-season contract negotiations didn't go smoothly.

The Yankees loaded the bases with no one out in the bottom of the first after a leadoff single by Gardner and walks to Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.

The Marlins roster is, unsurprisingly, completely different nowadays.

In the eighth, Justin Bour grounded into a force out against Chasen Shreve, scoring Bryan Holaday from third base for Miami's sole run. As for Garcia, he's looked pretty solid so far and it will be interesting to see how he fares against this Yankees lineup.

'We convinced him': Macron says he steered Trump on Syria strikes
Macron also offered to play the role of intermediary between the United States and Russian Federation . Limiting the strikes to these specific targets was not necessarily Trump's initial plan, Macron said.

The Marlins and Jeter hope to get veteran pitcher Dan Straily back from inflammation in his forearm that has placed him on the disabled list. Come to think of it, how many pro sports owners can you even name?

Judge owns the longest active streak in the majors and is hitting.400 (18-for-45) with four homers and 11 RBIs during this streak, which ties Dee Gordon and Marcell Ozuna for the longest streak of the season.

On Tuesday against the Red Sox, Severino surrendered five runs on eight hits against the division rivals in a game that the Yankees would eventually lose by a score of 14-1. And that stretch includes a humiliating 20-1 loss at the hands of the Phillies. The name on the back of the jersey, however, may come as a surprise.

Another former Yankees legend, Don Mattingly, didn't have a choice. "It's my first start out there, so I understand what they're doing". Through 13.1 IP he has a 31.2% strikeout rate, 16.4% walk rate, and a 28.1% groundball rate, which all contribute to his 4.73 ERA (77 ERA+). And when will this start resembling any type of fun for him? And he was working on a no-hitter against the Mets before being pulled because Mattingly felt he was laboring, so the early returns have been quite good.

Garcia threw 45 four-seam fastballs with an average velocity of 92.1 miles per hour to complement a changeup and curveball. The extra ticks on the slider and the groundball tendencies make a world of difference, though. The bullpen has managed an ERA of 4.71, along with a WHIP of 1.42 and a K-per-9 of 9.30.

Teheran (1-1) allowed one run, five hits and three walks with nine strikeouts in six innings. Miami threw 217 pitches in eight innings. And, of course, there's Donnie Baseball in the dugout. "We're on pace after the second homestand to have our turnstile numbers higher this year than they were last year". "I'm picking the ball up better".

If you're looking for player to watch on the Marlins, Lewis Brinson might be the best bet. "It don't matter what you did a year ago", Mattingly said.
