Harry Kane 'out until May' with World Cup dream under real threat

Tottenham's Premier League leading scorer damaged ankle ligaments for the third time in 18 months in Sunday's 4-1 win at Bournemouth.

That's according to The Mirror, who claim that Harry Kane will be out until May and faces a desperate battle to be fit for the World Cup as a result.

On the first occasion he suffered the same injury he missed seven weeks - a similar period to the expected lay-off this time - in September 2016, while the second injury only ruled him out for three weeks.

Given the delay for a diagnosis, it looks highly unlikely that the 35-goal striker will be fit for Spurs' FA Cup quarter-final at Swansea on Saturday, while his involvement in next week's global break also looks doubtful with England set to face Holland and Italy in friendlies.

It means for club he is likely to miss at least four Premier League games, the FA Cup quarter-final with Swansea and a semi-final should they make it that far.

Ronda Rousey was missing from WWE Raw
With WrestleMania less than four weeks away, this is exactly the kind of episode of Raw that WWE could ill-afford. Rousey's next advertised date is for the WrestleMania go-home show on April 2 in Atlanta.

But, depending on their FA Cup progress and the dates fixtures get rearranged for, he could have two bonus opportunities to build up his fitness ahead of the World Cup.

If a scan confirms ligament damage as expected, with around six weeks out a possible timescale, England's hierarchy do not want any risks taken that could impact his chances at the World Cup this summer.

Spurs have a league clash against Newcastle to reschedule, while their trip to Brighton on Friday April 20 would also get postponed if they reach the FA Cup's last four.

The England striker will be spending times on the sidelines with an injury to his right ankle-much as he did for 14 games last season.
