Andrew Liveris to Step Down as DowDuPont's Executive Chairman

USA chemicals producer DowDuPont Inc's executive chairman Andrew Liveris will step down on April 1 and its co-lead director Jeff Fettig will assume Liveris's role at the company, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday. "With that transformation complete and Dow entering into its next phase of growth, now is the right time for me to effect my previously announced plan to transition and then to retire".

According to the Wall Street Journal, DowDuPont's Executive Chairman, Andrew Liveris, will step down on April 1st.

Investigators are trying to determine whether the explosion is linked to a similar blast that killed a 39-year-old man on March 2. Both cases are now being looked at as being related, according to Manley, who says there are similarities of the two incidents.

The merger of DowDuPont - combining the inventor of Kevlar in DuPont and a giant maker of plastics and chemicals in Dow - was announced in December 2015 and took more than a year to complete. A formal announcement from the Midland-based company is expected Monday.

Jeff Fettig, a director, will replace Liveris, 63, who had said he is likely to depart this year, the newspaper said. Within 18 months of closing, DowDuPont has said it will split into three separate companies focused on agriculture, specialty products and materials. The other two in DuPont's home state of Delaware.
