Trump says memo 'vindicates' him in Russian Federation probe

The memo written by Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, had been hyped by several House Republicans, conservative media, and far-right conspiracy theorists as proof of surveillance abuses committed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Obama-era Department of Justice against the Trump campaign and pushed to have it released.

"Mr. Nunes has not read the warrant from which the memo is said to be drawn", wrote Sheryl Gay Stolberg and Matthew Rosenberg, in a New York Times report on Nunes.

"If we continue to undermine our own rule of law, we are doing Putin's job for him", Mccain said.

The memo points out that officials relied partly on a dossier compiled by a former British intelligence official, Christopher Steele, who was conducting research that, unbeknownst to the court, was surreptitiously paid for by Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

The panel Republicans voted against releasing a memo written by its Democratic members at the same time.

The FBI argued against the memo's release, saying: "We have grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo's accuracy".

Since his firing last May, Comey has made his personal feelings about Trump known, testifying in detail about personal interactions he says troubled him.

Mr Trump sees the release of the memo as key to making the changes he wants at the justice department.

Egypt: 4400 years of age Tomb found on the outskirts of Cairo
The tomb dates back over 4,300 years, to a time after the Giza Pyramids had been constructed. These tombs often hold the burials of elite members of ancient Egyptian society.

"Talk is cheap. The work you do is what will endure".

Democrats fear Trump will use the memo as a pretext to fire Rosenstein over his approval of an extended surveillance warrant for Page.

In a an oddly-worded tweet on Saturday morning, U.S. President Donald Trump said the Devin Nunes memo "totally vindicates "Trump" from the Russian Federation probe.

Leading Democrats have warned of a "constitutional crisis" and told Mr Trump not to use the memo as a means of disrupting and discrediting the Russian Federation investigation.

SARA CARTER, FOX NEWS: Well, I think what we're going to to see was a concerted effort, like you said, Sean, to use the dossier in order to verify the warrant.

Special counsel Robert Mueller has already indicted two officials, including Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, and two more campaign officials have admitted lying to investigators - including one-time national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Trump is expected to clear the way for the publication of a classified memo on the Russian Federation investigation that Republicans say shows improper use of surveillance by the FBI.

Devin Nunes' much-vaunted memo is the political equivalent of a shaggy-dog story, in which endless testimonials to an unseen canine's superlative shagginess end with the disappointing presentation of an animal that is, after all, not so shaggy. The memo's release would also threaten to further fracture the frayed relationship between the president and his justice department and intelligence community, both of which opposed the release of the document, which is based on classified intelligence.
