Delhi: Class 9 student found dead in school's toilet; 3 students detained

In a killing with much resemblance with the murder of Ryan International School student Pradyuman Thakur, a Class 9 student of the Jeevan Jyoti Senior Secondary School in Sadatpur area in northeast Delhi's Karawal Nagar was found dead inside the washroom of the school on Thursday.

A 16-year-old student of ninth class was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the toilet of a private school Jeevan Jyoti in Karawal Nagar here on Friday.

According to Mr Singla, some school students have told the police that they found Tushar lying in a state of unconsciousness in the toilet. "Tushar was punched on the face and neck by the three", deputy commissioner of police A K Singla said. He was immediately taken to the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The police said a case of murder was filed after CCTV footage confirmed the boy fought with four other students. "The three have been sent to a juvenile correction home", Singla added.

The officials say the militants are using shells or improvised explosive devices to deliver the chemicals. What I'm saying is groups on the ground, NGOs, fighters on the ground said that sarin has been used.

The school's management, on the other hand, claimed that Tushar was allegedly suffering from diarrhoea and fell unconscious, which led to his death.

Local residents along with the boy's family members staged a protest at the Karawal Nagar Chowk and demanded a probe into the matter. The boy's family also alleged that school authorities were trying to shield the students he had a fight with. As per details by the Police, at no injury marks were found on the boy's body. The boy's family alleged that he had a fight with some students and was badly thrashed inside the school's toilet.

The police said the medical board will conduct a post mortem on Friday, PTI reported. Karawal Nagar MLA Kapil Mishra said he is in touch with the police and hospital authorities and is closely monitoring the case.
