Ford Figo Cross unveiled - To be launched as Ford FreeStyle CUV

Ford Motor on Wednesday globally unveiled its latest compact utility vehicle "Freestyle" to be launched in second quarter of this year in India.

On the inside, the Freestyle gets a tweaked dashboard and a 6.5-inch floating touchscreen with Ford's SYNC 3 system.

While Ford has not revealed any details of its new compact utility vehicle, in all likelihood that is likely to be a cross between an SUV and a hatchback.

The interior gets all black interior like the Figo Sport and an infotainment system which has smartphone integration in the form of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and the company's SYNC3 connectivity system.

Ford calls it Freestyle and while it may appear to be Figo hatchback on stilts, the company promises that there's more to what meets the eye. Along with the class-leading safety of six airbags, the Freestyle gets features like TCS (traction control system), ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake force distribution) and uniquely tuned EPAS (electric power assisted steering). Reports are coming that Ford is set to unveil a new compact utility vehicle for India today and it will the global premiere of the product here. This naturally-aspirated engine has been derived from the 1.5-litre Dragon Series engine that debuted in the EcoSport facelift that was launched in 2017. "With Freestyle, we are sure to delight consumers with a combination of compelling and capable features". The 1.2 is paired to a new five-speed gearbox from Getrag. It also has Active Rollover Prevention (ARP) which works in tandem with ESC to detect potential rollover situations.
