Serena Williams Will Play With US Fed Cup Team in February

The champion, who welcomed her daughter Alexis Olympia in September, is returning to the court five months after giving birth, according to the U.S. Tennis Association.

Williams reached the semifinals in 2015 at Indian Wells and the finals in 2016, after returning to the event that she had boycotted for years.

Joining Williams on USA captain Kathy Rinaldi's roster announced Tuesday is older sister Venus, a seven-time major champion.

Williams has not played a WTA tournament since she won the Australian Open title last year and skipped this year's opening Grand Slam. The siblings have not played on the Fed Cup team together in three years. A fourth member of the US squad will be announced next week.

Trump to Schumer: No wall, no DACA deal
The plan is far from what many activists and Democrats hoped when they chose to use the budget deadline as leverage. Republicans have appeared increasingly confident that Democrats would bear the brunt of criticism for the shutdown.

She will team with sister and world No. 5 Venus Williams, world No. 9 CoCo Vandeweghe and a yet-to-be-named fourth player to represent the United States against the Netherlands on February 10-11 in Asheville, N.C.

"I think it's always great to have Serena around and playing", Keys said at the Australian Open on Wednesday. "I'm very much looking forward to having her back on the tour".

This marks the first time in two years that either Williams sister has competed for United States of America in the Fed Cup.

The only other high-profile match Williams has played since her maternity leave was an exhibition in Abu Dhabi in December, in which she lost to Jelena Ostapenko in a super tiebreak.
