Kenneth Branagh's ARTEMIS FOWL Movie Has Found Its Young Lead

Newcomer Ferdia Shaw has been tapped to portray the titular role in Disney's adaptation of the famed novel series, reports confirmed. The cast also includes Lara McDonnell as the elf hero Captain Holly Short and Nonso Anozie as the bodyguard Butler. The studio announced earlier today that after an extensive casting search, Branagh has found their leading actor.

Twelve-year-old Artemis Fowl is the most ingenious criminal mastermind in history.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh off a script by Conor McPherson, Artemis Fowl is scheduled to hit theaters on August 9, 2019.

Dolphins TE Thomas and G Bushrod placed on injured reserve
Bushrod started the first 10 games at right guard but hasn't played since Week 11 and was awful even before getting hurt. To replace them, the Dolphins have promoted Thomas Duarte and activated Eric Smith off of the IR.

Artemis Fowl is going up against one of the most influential actors of all-time: Dame Judi Dench. Casting director Lucy Bevan saw over 1,200 candidates for the part. After the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal surfaced in October, Disney removed him from his producer role; Branagh and Judy Hofflund are producers.

Artemis Fowl is a 12 year old genius who kidnaps the fairy leprachan officer as ransom in a bid to rescue his kidnapped father. Anozie, has been cast as Butler, the imposing bodyguard of the protagonist; McDonnell is set to play Captain Holly Short, who has a reputation for her fearless actions; and Gad has been cast as Mulch Diggums, who has a penchant for stealing. Branagh will be working from a script by Irish playwright Conor McPherson, with shooting set to commence in the United Kingdom in early 2018.

"Josh Gad has signed on for the role of Mulch Diggums, a kleptomaniacal dwarf who works for the fairies-and himself". Are you looking forward to seeing this book to movie adaptation?
