Great British Bake Off: Prue Leith accidentally reveals victor

No one told me judging a Great British Bake Off final would be so emotional.

Prue Leith has done the unthinkable when it comes to The Great British Bake Off - she tweeted congratulations to the victor ahead of the final tonight.

She said she was in Bhutan and had been confused by the time difference between the Asian country and the United Kingdom, thinking the final had already aired. "Do you want to join us?" Fans caught wind of the early reveal and began to fume.

"I am in a different time zone and mortified by my error". The reason for the accidental spoilers?

The show's new judge Leith, now in Bhutan, blamed the fist-in-mouth clanger on jet-lag and a different time-zone.

Brooke Vincent joins the brand new Dancing On Ice 2018 lineup!
The Great British Bake Off 2016 victor is reportedly set to swap the heat of the kitchen for the chill of the ice rink. Cheryl Baker has been confirmed as the second celebrity participant in the new series of 'Dancing On Ice' .

At 10.37am this morning, she posted a message on the social networking site which seemingly revealed who the victor is. The unfortunate judge has found herself trending on social media after congratulating tonight's victor hours early after becoming confused by the time difference while overseas. "I thought they got it six hours ago".

The tweet was deleted just a few seconds later, but not before it had been widely shared, causing much wailing and gnashing of teeth among GBBO fans looking forward to Tuesday evening's finale. "We have no further comment".

The final takes place tonight at 8pm, with Sophie Faldo, Kate Lyon and Steven Carter-Bailey all in the running.

So many questions remain: Why doesn't she have a social media manager? It was a silly mistake, one that could have easily been avoided. Bring back Mary Berry.
